Mirna Chacín is a Venezuelan-born Canadian artist and photographer specializing in
multidisciplinary art. Since the 1990s, her work has explored loss, grief,
belonging, uprooting, and cultural heritage, often engaging communities through
diverse, inclusion, and cultural preservation projects.
At the core of her artistic endeavors is the ongoing project, "The Ulysses' Suitcase,"
which delves into the impact of cultural grief on newcomers' identity, new
beginnings, and the healing power of creativity, heritage, and memories.
